Practising a job interview
should not cost you the job.

RISE lets a student in vocational education rehearse a real interview in their own trade and their own language, as many times as they like, and get useful feedback straight away. Built by four organisations in three countries, and free for any school to run.

What it is

A student picks their trade and the level they are studying at. The platform asks ten questions written by teachers in that field, reads what the student types, and scores it against what a complete answer should contain — then says what was good, what was missing, and what a stronger answer would have looked like.

One

Questions and model answers are written by teachers who train that trade — not generated. Around 5 000 of them.

Two

An AI model reads the student's answer and compares it with what the teachers said a complete answer contains.

Three

The student sees a score, what they did well, what to improve, and a better version of their own answer.

Four

Their teacher can follow along and coach them. Nothing here ever counts towards a school grade.

How it came about

Students leaving vocational education are often good at the work and unprepared for the twenty minutes that decide whether they get to do it. Interview practice needs a person who knows the trade, has time, and is willing to be honest — and there are never enough of those to go round.

Four organisations across Portugal, France and Serbia set out to see whether a language model could take some of that load: not to replace the teacher, but to give every student somewhere to fail safely as often as they want. Teachers wrote the questions and the model answers for their own trades. The software's job is only to ask, to listen, and to compare what it hears against what the teacher wrote.

It ran as an Erasmus+ small-scale partnership from March 2025 to December 2026, with a measured pilot in three schools.

The partnership

Four organisations, three countries. Each school wrote the interview content for its own trades, in its own language.

Lycée Jacques Le Caron
Applicant & coordinator · France

Lycée Jacques Le Caron

Arras. Leads the project, and wrote interview content for 75 French trades — from Maçon to Data Analyst, the largest single body of content in the project.

Tehnička škola Zrenjanin
Partner · Serbia

Tehnička škola Zrenjanin

Led the platform's architecture, development and delivery. Wrote the Serbian interview content, and hosts the platform for the partnership.

AEVA
Partner · Portugal

AEVA

Associação para a Educação e Valorização da Região de Aveiro. Wrote the Portuguese interview content, and leads evaluation and dissemination.

Partner · Portugal

Marabunta

Pleasant Mountain Unipessoal Lda. AI consultancy; led the training materials and the teacher training on platform development.

Documents

Everything that describes how the platform was designed and built, published as it stands.

Run your own

The platform is open source. A school anywhere can run its own copy, with its own students, its own trades and its own language — nothing is tied back to us.

  • You will need a small server, a PostgreSQL database, and an account with a language-model provider.
  • Interview content is yours: your teachers write the questions and the model answers for the trades you actually teach.
  • Running costs are the server plus whatever the model provider charges per interview.
